Is a Cash Back Visa Card for you?

Among the multitude of credit cards and credit card features in the market today, a cash back credit card is one of the most popular, if not being the most popular of them all. Basically, this feature provides you with rebate and cash back incentives.

Compared with other reward programs, cash back is becoming more preferred for practical reasons.  Many cards would offer rewards on items that you don’t usually need or things that might not have significant impact to you.  Gas points would be nice for your car and airline miles reward is what you will appreciate if you fly frequently.  Some other neat stuff and items like show tickets, video rentals, consumer goods and appliances are better than nothing.  But you can’t use your frequent flier miles reward as gas rebates or one reward item for another that you need.

This is the advantage of cash rebates. You can buy anything with cash including the items being offered in the other reward programs without being limited by the availability of the item.  What’s more, you can do this at your own time and at your own leisure.

Cash back Visa cards gives you cash rebates on your daily purchases.  Each time you give your Visa card to pay off during sales transactions, you get a certain percentage of the amount of the purchase.  This is charged back to your card.  The more you use your card and the more purchases you make, the more money you earn from your card.

Usually, there’s a bracket of the amount of purchase with corresponding percentage of the cash back amount or what is termed as tiered or you can get a flat percentage.  Rebate Rewards Visa Card offer 0.5% cash rebate on the initial $3,000 net annual purchases and increases the percentage to 1% for purchases that go beyond $3,000 and up to a maximum of $25,000.  To illustrate this computation, an annual net purchase of $20,000 earns a total of $185.  The first $3,000 earns $15 or 0.5% of $3,000 while $17,000 earns a $170.  This means that this cash back card is highly favorable to those with annual purchases of $3,000 and more charged to their cash back Visa card.

The total amount of rebate for the year is credited at the beginning of the following year even if the amount of reward is reflected in the monthly statement of account.  Another stipulation to receive the cash rebate is that the Rebate Rewards Visa account must be active and in good standing.  Bear in mind also that fees, interest charges, cash advances, optional services and refunds, rebates and other credits are not included in earning rebates.

In a nutshell, always remember that having enough information and knowledge about the card’s feature will help you maximize its advantage in relation to your spending habits, budget and lifestyle.   In the end, don’t forget that your main objective is to get the most out of what these cards offer.  Don’t overspend on useless purchase just to increase your rebate.  You might overshoot your budget and fail to harness better the benefits of a cash back credit card.
